GWCC to Host General Election Candidates’ Forum in Asheboro

The George Washington Carver Community Enrichment Center (GWCC) will host a General Election Candidates’ Forum on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The event will take place at GWCC, located at 950 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Asheboro.

This forum will feature candidates who advanced past the primary and are now running for Mayor, City Council, and School Board in Asheboro.

Earlier this year, GWCC held a forum that welcomed all candidates, giving the community an opportunity to hear their visions and priorities. The upcoming event narrows the field to those whose names will appear on the general election ballot, providing voters with another chance to directly engage with the individuals seeking to lead the city and its schools.

One of the defining features of this forum is its interactive format: all questions will come directly from the audience. This ensures that the discussion reflects the concerns, priorities, and interests of the Asheboro community.

GWCC encourages residents to attend, listen, and participate. The forum is free and open to the public.

“This is about giving the people of Asheboro a voice in the process and making sure they have every opportunity to make an informed decision at the polls,” said organizers.

The event promises to be an important step in fostering transparency, accountability, and community involvement in local government and education.
