Convenience and Accessibility for Students
One of the standout features of this program is its convenience for students. The Carver Center has been designated as a bus stop by both city middle schools, ensuring that students can easily take the bus from their school directly to the center after classes. With transportation taken care of, students can focus on making the most of their time at the program.
“This program brings out things in the kids they didn’t know were in them. Looking at their faces, they are enjoying what they are doing.”

Flexible Schedule and Academic Support
The after-school program will run Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, aligning with the entire nine-month school year. The program offers an Academic Skills Development component that focuses on strengthening study habits and increasing self-motivation. Students will receive individualized homework assistance tailored to their specific needs, with tutors and interns trained on the homework assistance software used by Asheboro City Schools. Additionally, select high school student interns will assist program leaders in guiding students’ academic progress.
