2023 Community Angels Honorees Announced

Recognizing Exceptional Community Service

In an era where selflessness and community engagement often take a backseat to personal pursuits, it’s heartening to witness events that shine a spotlight on those who exemplify the spirit of giving back. The George Washington Carver Community Enrichment Center (GWCC Center) is set to host the annual Community Angels Awards on Sunday, September 10th, at 4:00 PM, at its premises located at 950 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Asheboro, NC. This event has become a cherished tradition, celebrating individuals whose tireless efforts have enriched the lives of others and transformed Randolph County, particularly the East Side, into a better place for all.

The Community Angels Awards event is not just an evening of celebration; it’s a powerful symbol of the strength and unity that can arise from the concerted efforts of a few dedicated individuals. It provides the local community with the opportunity to publicly acknowledge and thank those who have dedicated their time, energy, and skills to uplift others and create positive change.

Previous years have seen remarkable figures being honored as Community Angels, including the likes of Bishop Barney Trogdon, Helen Gaines-Settles, and Addie Luther, who have left indelible marks on the community through their selfless acts.

This year’s roster of honorees promises to continue the legacy of impactful community service:
