The GWCCEC (George Washington Carver Community Enrichment Center) is delighted to announce its inaugural golf tournament, set to take place on September 16th, 2023, at the picturesque Asheboro Municipal Golf Course. This exciting event promises an afternoon filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and the opportunity to support a great cause while enjoying the sport of golf.
A Captain’s Choice Contest
The tournament will follow a Captain’s Choice format, allowing golfers of all skill levels to participate and contribute to their team’s success. Teams will consist of four players, and each team will select the best shot among its members for the subsequent play. This format ensures that both experienced and novice golfers can join in the fun and make a valuable contribution to their team’s performance.
Registration Details
To register for the tournament, the entry fee is $50.00 per player, which includes green fees and a shared cart. However, for those who register in advance through the gwccasheboro.com website, a discounted rate of $45.00 per player will be available. Registering early not only saves you money but also helps us plan the event more effectively.
Prizes to Win
Participants will have the chance to compete for attractive prizes. The first-place team will be awarded a prize of $400.00, with the second-place team receiving $200.00, and the third-place team earning $100.00. In addition to these team prizes, there will be individual challenges to spice up the competition. Golfers will have an opportunity to win $50.00 for the longest drive in the fairway on a par 5 hole, as well as $25.00 for the shot closest to the pin on a par 3 hole. These prizes not only add excitement to the game but also give players a chance to showcase their skills and potentially win some extra cash.
